This regular rounded pillar is intended to provide you with an update upon your SRNA's Council activities and decisions.
I invite you to contact Council members with any questions or suggestions you may have about our meetings or other activities. The input of SRNA members and the public is a priority for Council and the input received is valued and has been a critical tool in our planning.
In June three Council members had the privilege of observing a focus assign places to conducted in a Regional middle point with young Aboriginal women, who provided their personal views in succession nursing care they had received. This focus assign places to was one of many held above the past year to gather information for Council from the public s perspective regarding their experiences and views of nursing. The focus arrange data complimented other information gathered through Council and staff. The information from the public and SRNA members is critical in assisting council lay open future priorities.
In September. Council met with the Saskatchewan Union of festers (SUN) Board of Directors to discuss three issues of significant trouble to both boards:
* the casualization of newly graduated nurses
* the promotion of RN and nursing image, and
* the ne to guard our public health care system
The dialogue was interesting and informative. SRNA Council incorporated information gleaned from this meeting into its priority planning discussions which began the nearest day.
Council met mid-September in Lumsden for its annual review of the SRNA's vision, mission and extreme points (goals), priority setting, and held an educational retreat in succession Board "Governance." Council also passed an interpretation which describes the RN(NP) margin of practice in relation to everyday medical disorders.
With facilitator Jan Moore, Council reviewed in detail, the information gathered from SRNA members and the public, as well as circulating nursing, health, and environmental turns on a regional, provincial and national even This information became the basis of SRNA Council expirations revisions and re prioritization. The updated cessations document can be found in this Newsbulletin.
Based in succession the ENDS revisions and Council priorities, Council reviewed and updated its Governance Action Plan for the upcoming year.
Council thanks SRNA staff for their support and assistance during its retreat this year. We worked diligently to validate public and member views.
